Being a new Christian blogger isn’t always an easy path to walk, but as long as we rely on God in everything, we can overcome any obstacle that comes our way.
Only by God’s grace and through His power can we do His work and touch the hearts of others by the Holy Spirit. What an incredible privilege it is to serve and honor our mighty Lord while making a positive impact on the world.
The journey since I began blogging has been both challenging and beautiful. As I look back, I can clearly see God’s hand in it all—through His provision, guidance, strength, and faithful help with every step I’ve taken. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow in every knowledge and skill He brings my way.
It’s been a roller coaster ride, but the greatest shift in my work came when I began trusting God’s ways and His plans. This is the most important foundation in everything we do. The second is learning to be still and patient.
What also opened my eyes was choosing to do things God’s way, not my own—to work through His power rather than relying on my strength, and to trust Him instead of my feelings.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding.“
Proverbs 3:5 ESV
Trust God Through The Process
Things became more difficult the moment I began to doubt and distrust God’s plans. I found myself in a spiritual battle, and in those moments, it was crucial to resist the devil rather than resist God.
To be honest, I struggled for a long time with fully trusting the Lord until I finally reached a point where I said, “Enough. Either I trust God completely, or I don’t trust Him at all.”
And let me tell you—when I decided to trust God, everything began to feel lighter and more peaceful. Trusting Jesus brings rest to the heart. When we shift our focus to Him and surrender our burdens—especially the need for control—we begin to see everything in a new, brighter, and clearer light.
You won’t be able to find peace if you don’t trust God But when you genuinely choose to trust Him, even in difficult moments, your heart becomes calm, your mind becomes clear, and you gain wisdom to know the next step to take.
Fear no longer has room to rule your thoughts, and the opinions of others lose their power to unsettle you.
That is why we can confidently trust the Lord with uncertain things. He sees the future clearly, while what seems right in our own eyes often is not.
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.“
Proverbs 16:25 ESV
Don’t Let Discouragement Choke You
At times, you may feel as though you are walking alone in the desert, but you are not—Jesus is with you. It can be discouraging to look ahead and see how far you still have to go before reaching the promised land, but remember that discouragement does not come from God.
We may feel overwhelmed when a great obstacle stands before us or unprepared to climb a high rock, yet when we lean on God’s strength rather than our own, we can endure and overcome every trial.
And even as we walk along difficult roads, we can still praise Jesus, for He is our helper and the source of living water; a spring that refreshes us and gives us the strength to persevere.
God Requires Obedience And Surrender
Obedience is also crucial, for we can easily drift from the right path when we rely on wavering emotions. When we resist moving in alignment with God’s will, we become vulnerable to distraction by fleshly desires and risk getting lost in open waters.
We must surrender our ways to the Lord and remain anchored in Him; otherwise, our actions will become unstable. If He has chosen you to be His vessel, He knows exactly what you are capable of. All you need to do is trust God and allow Him to guide your steps. He will show you the way; you must simply follow.
At times, we may want to run as fast as possible toward the promised land, but rushing ahead can lead us off course. Do not rush Him; instead, wait on Him patiently.
“It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”
Lamentations 3:26 ESV
Walking slowly in obedience to God is far better than running ahead and making rash decisions, which only end up delaying our journey.
So often in life, we want to take the shortest and safest route, hoping our paths will always be straight. Yet some of the most beautiful places in nature are reached by winding roads.
When we follow Jesus and trust His navigation, we can be confident that He will faithfully lead us safely to our destination.
God does not promise that obedience will make all our plans succeed, but He continually asks us to obey and to trust Him with the outcome.
Be Led By The Holy Spirit
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while blogging is to remain led by the Spirit and not let emotions push me to give up when the fruit isn’t visible yet.
Feelings are the enemy of obedience to God.
Don’t let Satan distract you with fleshly concerns. Focus on what truly matters. Keep Jesus at the center of your work each day, and you will remain steady.
True faith is built on our Rock, Jesus Christ, not on our thoughts, emotions, or shifting feelings:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV
Do not let the amount of work ahead overwhelm you. Take it one step at a time.
I remember how quickly negative thoughts tried to flood my mind in the early stages of my blogging journey:
“Yes, other people can blog full-time, but not you. You’re not one of them.”
I began to complain internally and believed the lies the enemy was whispering:
“You’re not going to succeed. Just quit. Your blog will never generate enough traffic for you to live on.”
“How will you ever create something people want to buy? You’re not a salesperson. You have so much work ahead of you before you can make any money. It’s pointless. Stop wasting your time.”
But those were lies.
And the moment I recognized them as lies instead of truth, their power began to fade.
Walk In Faith Not By Sight
Uncertainty often arises when we begin to believe lies. It is as though we give the enemy a foothold in our minds, allowing fear, anxiety, and discouragement to take control.
Your path is in God’s hands. He knows whether you will succeed, and even if things do not unfold as you planned, you can rest in Him, because He sees the future clearly.
Our faith is what overcomes the battles of this world. But the moment we start believing the enemy’s lies, we stop leaning on God, relying on Him, and trusting in His promises.
At that point, we must decide whom we will trust, because we cannot serve two masters.
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
Matthew 6:24 ESV
Peace leaves our hearts and minds the moment we begin to rely solely on our own understanding.
Instead of allowing fear to influence our decisions, we must stop dwelling on the negatives, replaying our failures, and criticizing ourselves. Stop convincing yourself that you do not deserve God’s blessings. Stop burdening your heart with guilt and condemnation.
This is the enemy’s attempt to pull you down:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”
John 10:10 ESV
But God is faithful. He will provide for all your needs because He cares deeply for you and has a plan for your life. He has already gone before you, preparing the path you are called to walk.
So allow God’s peace to guard your heart instead of letting your emotions rule it.
Attitude Of A Servant Of God
On this journey, we must also maintain the right attitude—serving patiently and asking God for help when we encounter difficulties, rather than insisting on doing things our own way.
Come to God and ask Him to help you with every task before you. He is faithful to teach and guide you.
When I first started blogging, everything seemed easy to learn, until I reached the marketing stage. Suddenly, the daily strategies, especially on Pinterest, felt overwhelming. The number of tasks in front of me made me stop and wonder, “How am I going to manage all of this?”
But we must not be afraid when we face a mountain or an obstacle, because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
What feels overwhelming to us is never overwhelming to God. And when He calls us to something, He also provides the strength to carry it out.
God Has A Plan For You
Christian blogging is not always easy. Instead of allowing fear and complaints to rule your heart, allow God to lead you through the valleys He has permitted you to walk through.
So, my friend, decide today who you will trust and whom you will rely on. If you lean on God and abide in Him, you will find peace. But if you do not, your emotions and confusion may lead you astray.
Instead, choose to remain rooted in Him.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33 ESV
I hope that my experience as a new blogger will encourage you. It is far better to focus on what God has called you to do than to compare yourself to what others are doing.
Without God, we are helpless. But when we allow Him to lead, He strengthens and equips us to accomplish the work He has entrusted to us.
Do not let the long journey to the promised land discourage you from continuing to walk. And do not be afraid when you find yourself in deep or open waters; God is always with you, ready to help, if you simply allow Him to do His work in and through you.
Take one step at a time. Do one thing at a time. Place everything in God’s hands, and He will guide you step by step according to His perfect plan.
At the beginning of my journey, I felt as though I was swimming in deep waters surrounded by “big fish” who seemed to know exactly how to catch their food. Meanwhile, I felt like a small fish, still learning how to survive in that environment.
There were moments of confusion when I simply didn’t know what to do next. But God faithfully teaches us what we need to know, one lesson at a time.
Walk With Jesus Today
Even if you feel as though you are swimming alone in this vast ocean, you are not; God is with you, and He is guiding you:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.“
Isaiah 43:2 ESV
When fear begins to overwhelm you, surrender it to the Lord.
Simply ask Jesus to help you and lead you in the direction He desires for your ministry.
Instead of focusing on how far you still have to go, fix your eyes on the Lord and rest in Him. Everything will fall into place in His perfect timing.
Do not give up before you see progress. Even a small step forward is better than standing still. Learn from your mistakes, and pursue what glorifies God and serves people rather than chasing perfection.
When doubt creeps in, rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Do not allow doubt to delay you from stepping into your promised land for even a moment longer.
Finally, I want to encourage you: remain in the Word and stay rooted in prayer.
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.”
Psalm 37:5 ESV

Great post – very encouraging. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you found it encouraging. 🙂
It looks like you haven’t blogged in a while – but He brought me here today, so there must be a word for me. Sometimes trusting in Him can be a challenge, especially these last two years for me personally. I hope all is well.
Yes, it’s been a quieter season on the blog (these days, I’ve been more active over on Pinterest), but I believe, just like you said, God brought you here for a reason. His timing is never off. If He brought you here today, it’s because He’s still speaking, still reaching for you. I know how hard it can be to keep trusting when the road feels long and heavy. But God is faithful. Scripture reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5–6). He is still writing your story, and nothing is wasted in His hands. May His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
By God’s grace, I’m still walking the path He’s called me to, trusting that every promise He’s spoken will come to pass, in His perfect timing. Even when it takes longer than expected, His faithfulness never fails. 🙂
