Being a new Christian blogger isn’t always an easy path to walk on, but as long as we rely on God for everything, we can overcome any obstacles that come our way.
Only by God’s grace, by His power, can we do His work and touch the hearts of others through the Holy Spirit. What an amazing way to serve and honor our mighty Lord while also making a positive impact on the world!
It’s been an interesting journey since I started blogging, and I can see God’s hand all over it, through everything He’s provided; His guidance, strength, and help with every step I took. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn any knowledge and skill that comes my way.
It’s been a roller coaster ride, but the main thing that shifted my work was trusting God’s ways and plans. This is the most important aspect of everything you do. Number two is to be still and patient.
What opened my eyes was also doing things the way God wanted me to do them, not the way I wanted to do them. To work through His power, not on my own. To rely on Him instead of my feelings:
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5
TRUSTING GOD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT KEY TO KEEPING IN YOUR WALK AS A CHRISTIAN BLOGGER
Things became more difficult and I found myself in a spiritual battle as soon as I began to doubt and distrust God’s plans. In those moments, it’s critical to resist the devil rather than God.
To be honest, I used to struggle with not trusting God’s plans until I finally said: “Enough! Either I will trust God completely or not.”
And let me tell you, the moment I decided to trust God, everything seemed much easier and smoother – because trusting Jesus brings peace to your heart. And when we truly shift our focus to Jesus and surrender our burdens, especially control, to Him, we will see everything in a new, brighter, and clearer light.
You won’t be able to find peace if you don’t trust God. But if you truly choose to trust Him, even when it’s difficult, I guarantee you’ll have a calm heart and a clear mind and you will understand exactly what to do next.
There will be no fear in your mind, and no matter what others say to you, it will have no negative impact on you.
Therefore, we can be confident in trusting the Lord with the uncertain things, because He sees into the future, and what appears to be right in our eyes is often not:
“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
Proverbs 16:25
DISCOURAGEMENT IS NOT FROM GOD
You may feel as if you’re walking alone in the desert at times, but you’re not because Jesus is with you. And it can be disheartening at times to consider how far you still have to travel before reaching the promised land. But keep in mind that discouragement does not come from God.
We may be discouraged when we see a large rock that we must climb, but by leaning on God’s strength rather than our own, we can complete every trial.
And even though we are walking on difficult roads, we can still praise Jesus because He is our helper and the source of a spring of water that will give us the strength to persevere.
GOD REQUIRES OBEDIENCE AND SURRENDER
Obedience is also crucial, as we can easily deviate from the right if we rely on our wavering emotions. And if we resist swimming according to God’s will, we are prone to becoming distracted by fleshly desires and becoming lost in an open sea.
We must surrender our ways to the Lord and be anchored in Him, or our actions will be unstable. If He chose you to be His vessel, He knows exactly what you are capable of, and all you have to do is trust God and let Him guide your steps. He will show you the way, and you must follow Him.
We may want to run as fast as we can to get to our promised land, but this may lead us astray. Don’t rush Him; instead, wait on Him patiently:
“It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”
Lamentations 3:26
Walking slowly while being obedient to God is far superior to running fast and making rash decisions, which will only slow our journey.
So many times in life, we want to take the shortest, safest route possible, hoping that our paths will always be straight, but remember that some of nature’s most beautiful places are those that lead through a winding road.
However, if we follow JESUS and His navigation, we will arrive safely at our destination.
Yes, God does not promise that if we obey Him, all of our plans will succeed, but He frequently simply asks us to obey:
“And Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”
1 Samuel 15:22
DON’T LEAN ON YOUR EMOTIONS
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned while blogging is to not open the doors to Satan, fall into his trap, and give up on your emotions or feelings.
Don’t let Satan distract you with fleshly things; focus on what is important, not what isn’t; and put Jesus at the center of your work every day, and you’ll be fine.
True faith is built on our rock, Jesus Christ, not on our thoughts, emotions, or feelings:
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7
Don’t let the amount of work you still have to do overwhelm you; instead, take it one step at a time.
I recall how negative thoughts could quickly overwhelm me in the early stages of my blogging journey: “Yes, other people can blog full-time, but not you. You are not among them.”
I started whining and believing the lies Satan was telling me: “You are not going to be successful. Leave everything behind because your blog will not generate enough traffic for you to live off of it.”
“How will you create a product that people will buy because you are not a salesperson? “You have a lot of work to do before you can make any money, so stop wasting your time.”
BE INSPIRED BY THE TRUTH INSTEAD OF A LIE
Uncertainty arises when we begin to believe in lies. It’s as if you give the devil a foothold in your mind, allowing fear, anxiety, and discouragement, to take control.
Your paths are all in God’s hands, and He knows whether you will succeed or not; however, even if things don’t go as planned, you can rest in Him because He knows the future.
Our faith is what triumphs over the world’s battles, but the moment we begin to believe Satan’s lies, we stop leaning on, relying on, and believing God.
At this point, we must decide on whom we will place our trust because we can’t serve two masters:
“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
Matthew 6:24
Peace left our hearts and minds when we began to rely on our understanding:
Instead of allowing fear to influence our decisions, we must stop dwelling on the negatives, making lists of our failures, and criticizing ourselves. Stop convincing yourself that you don’t deserve God’s blessing. Stop slapping yourself with guilt and condemnation.
This is Satan’s attempt to bring you down:
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.”
John 10:10
God will provide for all your needs because He cares for you and has a plan for your life. He had already cleared the path for you to walk down.
Allow God’s peace to cover you instead of allowing your emotions to rule your heart.
SERVE GOD WITH THE RIGHT ATTITUDE
In this journey, we must also maintain the right attitude, serve with patience, and ask God for help when we encounter difficulties, rather than doing things our way.
Simply come to God and ask Him to help you with any task you have, and He will teach you:
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.”
James 1:6
Everything seemed “easy to learn” when I first started blogging until the marketing strategy began. And the number of things you have to do on Pinterest daily, suddenly overwhelmed me: “How am I going to do all of this?” I wondered at this point.
Don’t be afraid when you come across a scale or an obstacle, because:
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
Philippians 4:13
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR YOU AS A CHRISTIAN BLOGGER
Christian Blogging isn’t always easy and instead of allowing fear and complaining to rule our lives, allow God to lead you through the valleys, He has planned for you to travel through.
So, my friend, decide today on whom you will put your trust and on whom you will rely. If you lean on God and abide in Him, you will find peace. If you don’t, your emotions and confusion will lead you astray. Instead:
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33
I’m hoping that my experience as a new blogger will encourage you. It is preferable to concentrate on what you need to do to succeed rather than on what others are doing.
We’re helpless without God, but if we allow Him, He will strengthen and equip us to do the work He has assigned for us.
Don’t let the long journey to the promised land deter you from walking. Don’t be afraid when you reach the open waters; God is always with you and will help you if you just let Him do His work.
Do only one thing at a time. Leave everything in God’s hands, and He will lead you step by step through His plan.
At first, I felt as if I was swimming in deep waters teeming with “big fishes” who knew exactly how to “catch their food.” However, I am still a “tiny” fish learning how to hunt for prey.
We may be perplexed at times because we don’t know how to do something, but God will teach us all we need to know.
WALK ON THE RIGHT PATH AS A CHRISTIAN BLOGGER
Even if you feel like you’re swimming alone in this ocean, you’re not; God is with you and He’s guiding you:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”
Isaiah 43:2
And when fear overpowers you, give it to the Lord.
Simply ask Jesus to assist you and lead you in the direction He desires.
Instead of focusing on how far you have to walk, focus on the Lord and rest in Him – everything will fall into place at the right time.
Don’t give up until you have made some progress. And any step is preferable to none at all. Learn from your mistakes and strive for things that will glorify God, rather than perfection.
When doubt creeps in, rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Don’t let doubt keep you from reaching your promised land for another second.
Finally, I want to encourage you to stay in the Word and pray:
“Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.”
Psalm 37:5
