I hope you find encouragement and inspiration to grow in your relationship with Christ on these pages. My mission is to draw your attention to Jesus, One who loves you the most.
Blogger. FRIEND. JESUS FOLLOWER.
Jesus said: “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7.38
As disciples of Jesus Christ, we should drink from the water of life daily.
What can we do to drink more of this living spring?
To do so, we must first determine whether we drink from the water of life or the water of this world.
We have free access to both; His living water and the dirty waters of this world.
Which fountain do we choose to drink from?
Examine yourself. Which waters nourish your soul?
When our hearts are overburdened with worldly things, we are easily poisoned by unclean waters:
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2
When our hearts are burdened with heavy burdens, the first question we must ask is: From what waters are we drinking? What spring does it come from?
We have two different cups from which to drink. We can drink from God’s cup or this world’s cup.
Is your cup overflowing with the world? Then you must separate yourself from the world by soaking God’s Word in your heart.
As born-again Christians, we will be thirsty for the water of life.
By drinking from His waters, you can overcome any obstacle. However, if you drink worldly waters, you will always be defeated.
Life’s waters will satiate you. Worldly waters, on the other hand, will always leave you empty, unsatisfied, and unfulfilled. It’s as if you drink but never quench your thirst.
Every day, we make decisions, so what do we choose? Who are we submitting to?
We cannot expect to be cheerful while riding for fleshly lusts:
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15
Feeding our flesh weakens us and dulls our desire for Christ. And the fruits of the flesh are visible:
“For the one who sows to his flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” Galatians 6:8
When we feed our spirits with the Truth, Christ dwells in us and we in Him. When we do things in the Spirit, everything appears so simple, doesn’t it?
Therefore, follow the true vine, Jesus Christ!Â
Why should we waste our time on worldly matters? Make it a priority to seek His kingdom first, because in the end, only what we do for Christ matters.Â
Are we bold and faithful servants who will enter the battle wearing all of Christ’s armor? Or are we frightened when the waters rise?
Stop living in fear, and start trusting God.
That is why we must seek God’s face on a daily basis. Jesus is our sustainment and fulfillment and He is the only way for us to live.
Live for His glory! 🙂
Swim courageously to the living waters. Don’t swim against the current; instead, draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
Humble yourself before the true authority on this planet. Instead of falling into the poisoned waters, let Jesus cleanse you and refresh you with His renewing water:
“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you.” Ezekiel 36:25
Refine yourself with pure, Holy water and the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us.
And most importantly, have faith:
“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7:38
Go into your secret place; dive deeper into God’s Word, feed your spirit and renew your mind with the Truth; and pray.
